twilight/harry potter?

okay if you know me at all, you probably know that i love harry potter, and that i like to read in general. you probably don’t know that i actually read twilight, or tried to. i got halfway, and couldn’t finish. now, it just pisses me off to see so many twilight/eclipse or whatever statuses. mostly about the movie.

the NOVELS

okay so about twilight. its about a girl named bella who goes to a regular school. a regular one. not a magical one. okay then she meets friends. and she meets edward cullen. and then she loves him and almost gets run over by a car. and she gets kidnapped cause she’s a freaking noob and edward saves her from death. the end. so as you can see, basically its basically just a story about how important it is to have a boyfriend. or like wait for someone to come save you.

now, harry potter is about a boy named harry. he’s treated inhumanely by his aunt and uncle for 10 years, until he learns he’s a wizard. he takes a train to a magical school called hogwarts. he learns transfiguration, potions, charms, herbology, and more. he makes two best friends, ron and hermionie. through the year, they learn about hogwarts and explore. they find a trapdoor, and use all their knowledge together to get to the end and find the sorcerer’s stone. good beats evil. so in this book, it teaches how you need teamwork when taking on challenges (ron used his knowledge on chess to beat that stage, hermionie used her sense of logic for another). you take the harder path, if it’s the right path (they try to find the sorcerer’s stone instead of waiting for someone else to). and that good conquers evil. now compare the two.

The movies

for eclipse, im pretty sure 80% of the movie fans, if not more, are just teenage girls who have hormones that want to see edward/taylor. the movie producers are using the saying “sex sells” because it totally affects these teen girls. who just wanna watch the guy take his shirt off. okay, yeah… seems like a great way to promote their movie. not gonna comment on that.

now, harry potter. we’ve seen harry, ron & hermionie grow since the FIRST movie. the producers don’t hire “hot” actor/actresses. they use the same ones since the first movie, & we watch them grow. the movie is basically only for people who want to WATCH the movie, the whole movie, and NOT lust for shirtlessness. (okay well i wouldn’t say it’s lusting, but maybe desire?) So just take a look at these different types of promoting their movies. uhh.. yeah.

Two-way view..?

this is random, but i think it’s a good point. why is it okay for girls to post links of guys (usually shirtless) on their facebook, saying ‘HOT’ but if a guy posts the exact same thing, except a picture of a celebrity girl, they get called out. girls comment ‘perv’. girls comment ‘you would’. girls comment ‘…’

but you dont see us guys writing that when YOU are posting those pictures of guys. why is it acceptable behavior for girls to do that, but not guys? so is the true fact that girls are more perverted than guys? probably not. but why the hypocrisy? its okay for you to post a link to the twilight cast shirtless but not okay for guys to post a picture of, say some model? okay then…

no ones gonna read this. but just my thoughts on the whole thing… strange world we live in. stupid twilight. just another temptation for teenage girls…

AUTHORS

stephanie myer is an awful writer. i know i can’t write any better, but she just writes a love-romance story to appeal to her audience: teen girls. she wrote it to please them, and their fantasies. don’t believe me? okay, what morales or values did you learn while reading twilight? why did you like it? because it was high in romance, sex, and love? doesn’t sound like a good reason… and meyer probably kept on writing books just to make more money. i hear she’s writing one in the perspective of another character… money whore

j.k. rowling wrote to please children. but teens and adults still enjoy it. she used vivid language to describe mythical creatures we knew about, but learned in greater depth because of her writing. okay and in her books, she actually had morales. do what’s right, even if it’s hard. harry had the whole wizarding world against him, but he didnt give up. it was emotional. painful. you could feel and know the characters, after 7 books. these 7 books were planned from the start. it’s amazing how she planned it all, if you think about it. you’re introduced to tom riddle’s diary, a horcrux, which you don’t learn until the 6th book. you’re introduced to tom’s past, which play a huge role in the 6th book. everything was planned out, she wasn’t doing this for more money.

so which one do you think is better?

right now im in an anti twilight mood. so im probably gonna post a lot of pictures and crap.
